Job Description
This position serves as a Project Material & Contracts Sourcing Lead on small Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC) projects or may serve as a Strategic Sourcing Process lead, Materials Buyer or Contract Manager for non-project Material & Contracts Sourcing.
- Plan, analyze, organize, direct, and control an appropriate portion of the Sourcing Strategy of regional materials & contracts supplier identification & capability alignment required for both indirect or direct purchases.
- Develop, or assist in the development of Purchasing, Sourcing, Expediting, or Field Purchasing activities on the project or non-project procurement.
- Perform the pre-work and research required to do effective material buying, expediting, or field purchasing activities in accordance with the corporate Operating System Requirements (OSR) and established project or Material Management Plans, policies, and procedures
- Provide general dotted line feedback, vetted Sourcing data, Sourcing Recommendations & Plans and supervision to the Purchasing, Expediting, and other support staff as assigned
- Responsible for the implementation, management, and monitoring of the Strategic Sourcing Work Process with the approved Corporate Reference Tool for Strategic Sourcing, Material Management and Contract Management to meet project requirements and schedule
- Negotiate and/or provide assistance in negotiation of large to complex equipment and bulk material packages to obtain best value for the Project
- The successful candidate should have a high motivation for improving Strategic Sourcing’s value to the project and hearty desire to continuously learn about the Project’s requirements & deliverables
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools preferred
- Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements
- Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
- Proof of U.S. citizenship is required
- Know how their contribution supports the team and corporation
- Effectively manage personnel within multi-functional, culturally, and regionally diverse project team
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write, and speak)
- Working toward applicable professional certification(s) or license(s)
- Experience should be primarily in the area of material management
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
