Flushing Hospital Medical Center is a 293-bed, not-for-profit teaching hospital. The hospital offers a variety of services for a culturally diverse community, including Bariatric Surgical Service, Ambulatory Care Center, Women's Health Center, Wound Care Center, and Chemical Dependence Unit. Our busy on-site full-service pharmacy provides prescription services to discharged, emergency department, and clinic patients as well as employees.The Blood Bank Department at Flushing Hospital Medical Center is seeking experienced Blood Bank Technologist.
Blood Bank Technologists perform routine and complex laboratory testing in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring the integrity and acceptability of specimens received for testing. Selects appropriate blood components for release for transfusion. Prepares and issues blood components adhering to established departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related
- One-year training in an accredited institution
- NYSDOH License
- Two years of Blood Bank Experience
- ASCP or eligible preferred
