The Drainage Design Leader will provide leadership and technical expertise in the planning, design, and execution of drainage-related tasks and projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional engineering consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of drainage projects.
- Develop and evaluate engineering reports, plans, and specification criteria.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, including client communication, proposal coordination, and presentations.
- Prepare specifications, scaled drawings, proposals, and ensure the approval of materials and construction.
- Meet with clients to define project objectives and requirements for the scope of work.
- Review junior staff's work for technical accuracy and provide guidance to other professionals and technicians.
- Perform quality control reviews, field reviews, and observations of ongoing construction projects.
- Lead a discipline team or small multidisciplinary teams to complete projects and manage scope, budgets, and schedules.
- Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with at least 20 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.
- Proficiency in production software and construction document production.
- Proven ability to make decisions that significantly impact an organization and recommend operational strategies.
- Recognized as a thought leader in the industry, with experience leading the development of new services, processes, or standards.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
- Strong relationship-building skills with clients, contractors, and team members.
