Flux Resources is seeking a Mechanical Cost Engineer / Estimator to join one of our clients on a direct full-time capacity. This is an awesome opportunity to work on some truly exciting projects and join a great team.
Position Summary : The Mechanical Cost Engineer will work within the Cost department and will report directly to the Cost Manager. They will work closely with the Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents. The Mechanical Cost Engineer will review subcontractor change order requests to validate costs are fair and reasonable and will assist in project cost forecasting. This position will be fully at the project site located in Sunnyvale, CA.
SALARY RANGE : $82,000 - $115,000 DOE

Essential Responsibilities :
- Setup and maintain job cost reports, including budgets, commitments, forecasts, yet to buys, contingencies, and spends.
- Track costs by bid package, field order, and specific category of change as defined by the client.
- Setup and maintain project indicators, including visual graphics.
- Work with subcontractors and equipment / material vendors to validate cost proposals.
- Monthly reconciliation of project cost reports.
- Interpret design documents, construction documents, and technical manuals to quantify materials required for construction.
- Perform quantity take-offs to validate subcontractor proposals.
- Prepare and manage cost authorization packages.
- Summarize quantities of materials in an orderly fashion.
