Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients, assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality patient care within our facility, which may include acute care settings and memory care units.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Provide basic patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
- Assist with phlebotomy procedures as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following aseptic techniques.
- Support patients in memory care by engaging them in activities that promote cognitive function.
- Document patient information accurately using eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center to deliver comprehensive patient service.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and report any changes in condition to the nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or as a Nursing Assistant is preferred.
- Knowledge of acute care practices and procedures is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of relevant training programs is preferred but not mandatory.
- Must be able to lift and move patients safely as required.
