Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a hospital setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being while assisting nursing staff with various tasks. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality patient care, particularly in environments such as ICU and Level I Trauma Centers.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Provide basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, ensuring adherence to care plans.
- Support patients with dementia care by offering compassionate communication and assistance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and equipment.
- Assist in the transportation of patients within the facility as needed.
- Help with phlebotomy tasks when required, ensuring proper techniques are followed.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient service.
- Utilize knowledge of physiology to understand patient needs and respond appropriately.
- Ensure the safe handling of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) for patient use.
Requirements
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles and hospital medicine practices.
- Experience working in an ICU or Level I Trauma Center is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on providing exceptional patient service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and protocols within the healthcare setting.
