Position Summary: Flying A Pipe is seeking a rough-terrain-forklift Operator/Loader for their Cisco, Texas pipe yard. A rough-terrain-forklift operator/loader is responsible for safely maneuvering heavy forklifts in busy industrial environments with rough terrain. They may also perform some yard maintenance tasks.
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
- Keeps the yard clean and organized.
- Loads and unloads materials and pipe from trucks and trailers.
- Assists with inventory management.
- Operates various yard equipment, such as forklifts, manlifts and wheeled loaders
- Stacks materials and pipe in designated areas.
- Inspects and maintains equipment to reduce downtime and facilitate longevity.
- Communicates to determine priorities and coordinates with other team members.
- Ensures a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Must have at least 1 year of experience operating rough-terrain- forklift/wheeled loader.
- Must have the ability to read tape measure/tally tape.
- Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must have the ability to lift heavy objects and work in all weather conditions.
- Must have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must have a teachable attitude.
Working Conditions:
- Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
- The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
- Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels and demonstrate manual dexterity and be able to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
- Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
- React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
- Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
- Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
