What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rigging Artist position at Flying Bark Productions?
Flying Bark Productions is working on exciting projects such as Avatar: The Last Airbender feature film, Netflix's Stranger Things animated series, as well as our production Tales From Outer Suburbia by Shaun Tan.
We are looking for a Rigging Artist who can work from our beautiful Sydney studio, who has a passion for storytelling and pushing the envelope with their work.
About the role:
- Create, revise, maintain and support the required rigged assets, responding to guidance and review notes from the Director/s as well as creative and technical supervisors
- Ensure that rigged assets meet standards and specifications with respect to appearance and aesthetics, user interface, performance, robustness & technical benchmarks
About you:
- A thorough understanding of controls and deformation
- Oversee the characters, set pieces and props rigging through the animation pipeline
- Provide support to, & troubleshoot for, users (other Technical Directors and Animators) who make use
of the rigged assets - Be an excellent communicator
- Have up to date and in depth knowledge of Maya, and good knowledge of Python and MEL
- Be able to develop techniques and processes to solve rigging production challenges.
