Job Responsibilities
This role is comprised of 60% sales, 20% management, and 20% studio operations.
Sales
- Focus on increasing Flying Buddha Studio’s revenue through expanded membership sales, higher class and workshop attendance, merchandise sales, and other promotional opportunities.
- Lead, implement, and coordinate activities that drive sales. This includes managing in-studio promotions, personalized outreach efforts, upselling and cross-selling initiatives, and fostering strategic partnerships with local businesses and corporations.
- Client Engagement/Retention: Be “the face of FBS”, demonstrating clear communication, enthusiasm, respect and kindness towards others and building strong relationships with clients to foster loyalty and encourage referrals.
- Responsible for meeting revenue goals and is promotionally-oriented and can direct sales through studio-required outreach.
- Oversee membership sales by assisting staff in effectively explaining membership options, promotions, and payment plans while ensuring they consistently execute the sales process.
- Tracking sales goals and performance metrics and coaching staff to improve where necessary.
- Organize and oversee studio events, open houses, and workshops to increase brand visibility and drive community engagement.
- Work closely with the Marketing Coordinator to promote classes, events, and membership offers.
- Analyze sales data and member feedback to identify trends, track progress, and refine strategies for continued growth.
Management/Leadership
- Train, motivate/coach, and support front desk staff to deliver outstanding customer service, meet sales goals, and uphold studio standards.
- Point of contact for all teachers and front desk staff regarding classes, scheduling, policies; responding in a timely manner to provide feedback and guidance.
- Ensure adherence to all business policies for the studio's policies and procedures.
- Assist the Owner with teacher meetings, trainings, communications, and events.
- Ensure teachers are completing duties and meeting the highest level of service and knowledge around classes, workshops, and services.
- Assist Owner with onboarding activities and training front desk staff.
- Coordinate regularly scheduled front desk staff meetings to discuss schedules, upcoming workshops, promotions, and any policy changes. Provide meeting minutes; action items, who is responsible for the action items, and decisions made.
- Maintain standard operating procedure documents (e.g., Employee Training Manual, Employee Handbook).
Operations
- Oversee daily studio and front desk operations, ensuring smooth processes such as: proper student check-in procedure, membership sign ups/contracts, telephone inquiries, email inquiries, cash handling, sales calls, delinquent account procedures, customer care calls, and document scanning.
- Ensure the studio is clean, safe, and welcoming; coordinate with facilities maintenance.
- Effectively coordinate with the Owner and vendors regarding ordering and inventory activities for the Higher Vibes Self Care Shop.
- Share responsibility (with Marketing Coordinator) of managing MindBody software.
- Responsible for ensuring customer accounts are accurate and up-to-date, adding profile notes; resolving customer needs and complaints; collecting overdue accounts as needed.
- Troubleshooting basic tech issues for POS system, printers, ipads, computers, audio system, etc. and coordinating with IT support if necessary.
Qualifications
- Passion for the wellness industry and the benefits of movement and mindfulness.
- Proven experience in sales, staff management, and team motivation preferably in a fitness or wellness setting.
- 2 years of sales experience.
- 2 years of management experience.
- Strong customer service, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills in person, on the phone, and via email.
- Ability to manage and drive all revenue streams, from membership sales to retail.
- Self-motivated team player who independently initiates and manages projects with minimal oversight.
- Ability to identify areas for improvement and collaborate with the team to implement changes.
- Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Desire to grow personally and professionally in a long-term career with exponential growth potential as our studio expands.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage change and transition effectively.
- Social media proficiency.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Experience with CRMs and Gmail/G Suite is a plus.
Hours:
- The Studio Manager maintains an active presence in the studio by spending a minimum of 40 hours per week there.
- We are open Monday through Sunday, and you will be required to work five days a week. Scheduling is flexible for which five days.
