About Us:
Flying Horse Farms aims to provide a nurturing environment for children's growth and healing. As a seasonal Psychosocial Team Member, you will be part of a dedicated team ensuring the physical and mental well-being of our campers.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in comprehensive training to develop expertise in mental health care and support
- Evaluate and assess campers' psychosocial wellbeing in collaboration with the Psychosocial team and other departments
- Collaborate with cabin staff to promote healthy relationships among campers
- Maintain thorough records of psychosocial progress notes
- Directly support campers through behavioral and emotional guidance
- Supervise and monitor camper behavior, enforce safety protocols, and handle emergencies
- Carry out tasks assigned by the Psychosocial Full-Time Team
- Be on-call overnight during camp sessions to address any psychosocial concerns
Requirements:
- Hands-on learning experience or relevant professional background
- Flexibility to navigate camp terrain and adapt to changing weather conditions
- Uphold professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
- Engage empathetically with campers while upholding boundaries
- Achieve precision in data entry within web-based systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of child development principles
- Willingness to reside on-site
Preferred Skills:
- Recent Bachelor's Degree holders (< 1 year) with a focus in Child Life, Social Work, or related fields
- Background working with children (ages 8-17)
- Valid Driver's License
