Job Summary: Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair, and replacement of plant equipment and grounds to maximize production quantity and quality, while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop, implement, and oversee schedules to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Lead efforts to diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
- Installation and Upgrades: Coordinate and manage equipment installations and process upgrades to improve plant efficiency.
- Resource Management: Supervise and train maintenance personnel, ensuring they are equipped and motivated to perform effectively. Oversee contractors and assist with hiring and disciplinary actions.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain safe working environments and adhere to OSHA and all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move up to 80 lbs (occasionally 100 lbs), work in extreme temperatures, and perform tasks requiring climbing, stooping, and mobility.
- Regular use of required safety gear, including glasses, face shields, and hearing protection.
Work Environment: Manufacturing setting with varying temperatures, exposure to chemicals, moving machinery, and forklift traffic.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree or trade certification in a related technical field.
- Experience: 5 years in maintenance or operations within a process manufacturing facility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Proficient with PLC, hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting, blueprint reading, and related machinery/tools.
- Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to supervise, train, and manage teams effectively.
- Additional Skills: Proficiency in office software (e.g., Word, email, spreadsheets) and strong English reading, communication, and math skills.
