About the Role:
As an Industrial HVAC Technician - Pharmaceutical, you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems at facilities by conducting proactive performance testing and ongoing scheduled maintenance.
This role includes performing preventive maintenance, calibration, service, setup, and repairs on HVAC equipment and related systems associated with GMP/GLP processes. You will ensure that HVAC and refrigeration equipment operate safely and efficiently, providing a productive work environment.
This position may require occasional out-of-state travel to support additional sites, including CA, NC, and ME.
What You'll Do:
- Install, repair, adjust, and maintain small electric or pneumatic control systems used for buildings, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment.
- Work with VAV/CAV supply and exhaust systems, and manage high and low-pressure steam, chilled water, glycol, pneumatics, and electricity comfortably and independently.
- Conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure accurate operation and compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine the best course of action for equipment modifications.
- Follow existing procedures to resolve straightforward issues with limited discretion.
- Contribute through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks described in detail, delivering output under supervision and mentorship.
What You'll Need:
- Completion of a formal HVAC training program or apprenticeship, with 3-5 years of commercial HVAC experience.
- Universal Refrigerant Recovery certification is required. Backflow Preventer certification is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of all relevant state and local codes.
- Technical skills in pipefitting, brazing, soldering, and pipe threading, with strong troubleshooting skills in controls. Familiarity with the Johnson Controls Metasys System is a plus.
- Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Strong communication skills to exchange clear information and follow basic work routines and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.
