DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for manufacturing engineering support of the production operations. Responsible for mechanical design and will design and formalize engineering level process documentation to ensure successful processing of prototype and new product application. Assist on the manufacturing engineering and design engineering of sustaining production, continuous improvement projects (CIP) and other manufacturing/mechanical projects. Interface with New Product Introduction Team (NPI) for handover of designs as products move from NPI to production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Develop/maintain detailed process routings using an automated manufacturing software system
- Develop/maintain detailed work instructions to support production lines
- Estimate manufacturing cycle times and deploy standards in manufacturing software system
- Construct Manufacturing and Assembly drawings using Solid Works CAD drawing system
- Conceptualize and create designs/design adaptations for cutting tools, shop aids, fixtures, and test support tools
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for the purchase of parts or services
- Support shop production to facilitate and deploy best known methods and improvements
- Utilize SolidWorks for CAD design
- Will commonly use geometry and trigonometry in product definition and problem solutions
- Work on cross functional teams for process improvement and cost reduction
- Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices
- Understand the importance of designing, building, and operating safe systems
- Basic knowledge and understanding of basic safety work processes such as JSA’s and MOC’s
- Demonstrate commitment in the successful EH&S management of chemical processes and facilities
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of 5 years of experience
- A minimum of 2 years of engineering/process/manufacturing experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience with CNC Mills and Lathes.
- Knowledge of plasma spray processes preferred
- Semiconductor industry experience strongly desired
- Semiconductor manufacturing/process knowledge strongly desired
- Other industrial manufacturing experience accepted
- Experienced in SolidWorks design, Certification desired
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Effective presentation skills in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Respond effectively to sensitive inquires or complaints
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
