Job Summary
This role offers variety, with opportunities to develop time-management and organizational skills handling field visits, office work, and projects for large commercial occupancies and hazards. You will work with minimal supervision, be capable of working independently, and have resources to build a rewarding career at FM Global including a structured hands-on training program.
Main Responsibilities
You will perform:
- Site Assessments: Conduct physical assessments of properties, including roofs, and evaluate potential risks.
- Evaluations: Assess site water supplies, dust hazards, chemical storage, and rack storage arrangements for client products, while ensuring compliance with FM Global Engineering Standards.
- Risk Management: Communicate recommendations and/or engineering solutions to clients as necessary.
This role involves traveling to clients' facilities daily (with overnight travel expected approximately 30% of the time) from a home office environment.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering (various specialties considered).
- Two plus years of experience in the pulp and paper industry preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Efficient time management ability with minimal supervision.
- Solid technical capability, including diverse knowledge of engineering principles.
- Ability to stay focused from a home office environment.
- Authorization to work in the country you are applying to work in.
- Physical ability to lift 25 pounds, able to climb ladders, balance, and deal with heights.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.
- A valid driver's license.
