What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rental Coordinator position at FMI Equipment?
Purpose:
To generate revenue through servicing existing and potential customers within the branch service territory. This position supports other departments of FMI Equipment to provide a one-stop-shop experience for our customers. Every position at FMI Equipment is responsible for maintaining the vision and mission statement of the company.
Duties:
- Complete rental transactions to include delivery and pickup of rental units
- Coordinate with shop regarding the scheduled maintenance of rental fleet
- Perform cold calls to previous and potential customers and maintain call activity and outcome in CRM database
- Maintain inventory and status of rental equipment
- Maintain a weekly call list
- Recommend products and services to existing and potential customers
- Follow check-in/check-out procedures of all units entering or exiting the rental yard
- Instruct customer on safe and proper use of equipment
- Maintain daily use of CRM database
- Maintain organization and appearance of equipment yard
- Other duties as assigned Responsibilities
- Customer service experience within the rental department and FMI Equipment as a whole
- Customer first impressions of the rental department
- Accurate completion and documentation of rental services and contracts
- Work with the Branch Manager to ensure implementation of strategy designed to grow the business through the rental department

- Ability work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Use of large motor skills to sit/stand/walk/stoop/kneel/reach for 6 hours per day

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to operate desk phone or cellular phone with or without the use of a headset

Skills and Education
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in rental or sales within the construction, heavy equipment, or related industry
- Must be people-oriented, sales driven, and a team player
- Strong time management and organization skills
- Proven customer service skills
- Strong professional network and development skills
- Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Proficient computer skills including maintaining credible data within a CRM, Microsoft Office, and mobile technology such as smartphone and tablet
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
