Position Summary
The SME II provides subject matter expertise on the FN Product Line to support new product development, testing, tradeshows, and training and demonstrations to current and potential FN customers. In this role, the SME provides operational feedback in the development of new products, advises, and assists the business development and program management teams, and assists with market comparisons and evaluations.
Job Duties
- Assists as SME during field testing and evaluation of new products and programs to meet specified requirements and implementation of necessary product changes.
- Assists the business development team by participating in demonstrations and tradeshows.
- Interacts with various internal and external customers to identify new products and enhancements that will meet future military market demands.
- Helps develop end-user cases for current and developmental technologies.
- Communicates product development and testing status to relevant staff.
- Educates business development and marketing staff on product features, benefits, and advantages.
- Provides customer feedback to the engineering, research and development, and sales teams.
- Provides all levels of training to FN employees and customers.
- Provides guidance regarding product performance issues.
- Implements company standards related to product release testing procedures.
- Participates in customer meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
High school diploma is required. A Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred. Formal technical training (instructor certification, armorer training, specialized operational training, etc.) is required.
Experience Requirements
Five years of military, law enforcement, or advanced firearms experience is required.

Working Conditions
Typical office environment with travel between FN locations and to other locations required. Must be willing to travel up to 50% (international travel included).
