GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARY
Retains and expands existing customer relationships and establishes new banking relationships by acquiring business from prospective customers; manages business development activities for an assigned functional area by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:

- Implements organization’s business development strategy within an assigned function aimed at retaining existing and expanding new business relationships; identifies current and prospective customer needs, uses a planned calling program and schedule, and coordinates selling and cross-selling efforts with functional managers and other bank employees.
- Compiles and maintains lists of key, expansion and prospective customers and industry leads and/or “centers of influence” and develops strong relationships that lead to new business via planned, in-person calls and networking opportunities, industry functions and other proactive sales activities.
- Collaborates to develop relationship-building strategies and makes joint calls with relationship officers and representatives of other functional areas in the bank; coordinates outreach and communication activities with relevant officers as appropriate.
- Maintains records of contacts and communications as appropriate; develops and provides analytical and statistical reports of business development efforts and existing/prospective clients’ needs to management and makes recommendations as appropriate.
- Conducts regular training sessions with relationship management/sales workforce bank-wide on products and services and cross-selling opportunities.
- Develops and maintains knowledge base of industry standards, changes, and trends, and their effects on the needs of local businesses and communities; represents the bank in various community functions to further enhance its image and develop additional business opportunities.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
