What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Banker position at FNC Bank?
The Personal Banker is responsible for assisting customers with a variety of banking needs as well as the sale of additional bank products to current and prospective customers.
We have one opening at our New Richmond branch location. This is a full-time opportunity with 37 - 40 hours per week ranging between 7:45AM-5:00PM Monday-Friday, along with a Saturday rotation schedule (one Saturday per month), 8:15AM-12:00PM.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required, a minimum of one year experience or equivalent combination of education and related work experience in financial services or retail/business banking desired
- Excellent communication skills required; ability to work in a team environment, learn quickly, and apply knowledge as needed
- Proficient in computer skills and ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to uphold confidentiality and customer privacy in all situations
Personal Banking duties and job functions:
- Greet customers as they enter the bank branch and direct them to the correct area of the bank to conduct their business
- Advise current and prospective customers on bank products and services that are best suited to their needs
- Understand and promote bank services such as Checking and Savings accounts, Certificate of Deposit (CDs), Money Market Accounts, Savings Bonds, Debit Card, Safe Deposit Boxes, Prepaid Cards, Cashier’s Checks and Money Orders
- Identify potential clients to reach out to; present our financial products and sell them on our financial services
- Open basic consumer (Savings, Checking, Money Market, Safe Deposit Box) and business (LLC, Sole Proprietorship, Corporations) bank accounts for current and new customers; oversee transactions and close accounts when necessary
- Perform administrative duties, like recording client information and documentation, entering data into proprietary software, and other similar tasks
- Provide account advice, including product suggestions, account research, and other information in a timely manner, to assigned customers as needed
- Perform deposit account maintenance as needed
- Participate in sales, services and product training meetings as assigned
- Provide customers with routine account information including research and problem solving, acting as the customer liaison between other bank departments when necessary
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls
- Assist with Safe Deposit Box entry
Retail Banking Functions:
- Receive checks and cash for deposits to accounts, examines checks for proper endorsement, and enters deposits via teller software
- Cash checks and process withdrawals, loan payments; verifies identity, signatures and customer balance prior to completing transactions
- Count, verify, and package coin and currency
- Reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift, comparing physical cash count to teller software generated totals. Reports any discrepancies to the Retail Banking Supervisor when necessary
- Process transactions through the Teller Capture system
- Ensure that the teller station is properly stocked with supplies
- Report malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station
- Balance and maintain on-site ATM, coin machine and vault as needed
- Verify, log & process night drop and mail transactions
- Performs additional job duties as assigned
