FNCI Technology Networks (Foothills NetCom, Inc.) is a growing and innovative company in Knoxville, specializing in technology solutions for area business owners for over 17 years.

We are looking for a self-motivated, organized and energetic individual for the following “No Drama” position :

Because we're growing, we are looking for an ambitious team player, for a  full-time Structured Cabling Technician  position, to join our team of technology installers. This position will require you to pull cables most of your time.

YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN installing and servicing Copper cabling (5e / 6 / 6a)   & Fiber cabling (Single & Multi Mode)  and / or other relevant service experience. Job requirements also including updating PSA system on each call, checking in / out of system and working closely with the scheduling manager. Most work is from 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM Monday – Friday, but some after-hours work is required. Must be capable of following written and oral instructions and is not afraid of asking for help or admitting they don’t know something.

This position is a full-time employment position, you will qualify for health insurance with HSA account and cell phone allowance. You MUST be based in Knoxville area and a US citizen (sorry, no exceptions). Drug testing, background check & previous job referral check is  REQUIRED . Responsibilities

  • Manage client relationships from a technical standpoint including recommending client technology direction and planning
  • Performing regularly scheduled remote & onsite visits with each assigned account
  • Responsible for special technical projects, roll-outs and infrastructure rebuild for customers
  • Utilize knowledgebase, FAQ’s, partners and all other available resources to aid in incident resolution in order to resolve customers’ issues effectively and efficiently
  • Meet the performance goals established by the company and your direct supervisor
  • Follow company policies and procedures and improves effectiveness by contributing ideas and opportunities for optimization resulting in a positive impact to the customer and company
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by direct supervisor
  • Install, test and document cabling
  • Quality dressing and routing of cables around work stations as well as behind the scenes
  • Build out projects to required specifications
  • Reading blue prints. Fire-stop various types of cable penetrations. Work with customer contacts on projects and work orders, as needed coordinate projects with end-users and vendors when required.
  • Communicate with engineers on various project requirements. Report project scope changes, issues or questions.

Required Qualification / Skills

  • Self-starter and able to effectively triage issues to determine if escalation is required
  • Excellent face to face communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Ability to function within and contribute to a positive, team oriented, continuous learning environment
  • Ability to prioritize large list of tasks
  • Two (2) years relevant experience or more in the structured cabling field.
  • Possess a proven ability to troubleshoot complex problems and provide solutions
  • Is extremely detail oriented and appreciates people who take an organized, systematic approach to achieving success.
  • Doesn't mind talking to people over the phone or face-to-face to help service Structured Cabling Networks, appointments, provide answers etc.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Light work (lift 10 lbs.)
  • Medium work (lift 11-30 lbs.)
  • Heavy work (lift 30-50 lbs.)
  • Very heavy work (lift over 50 lbs.)
  • Must be able to climb ladders of varying heights and have experience working on a lift.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to listen and understand what the customer has to say and be able to verbally reply.
  • Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle for required on-site visits.
