POSITION SUMMARY
The Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator is crucial in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment within our manufacturing firm. Responsible for implementing and overseeing safety programs, policies, and procedures, the Environmental and Health Coordinator ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and promotes a safety culture among employees. This position involves collaboration with various departments to identify and address potential safety hazards, conduct training programs, and continuously improve safety measures.
REPORTING TO: The Plant Manager
ALTERNATIVE REPORT: The V.P. Operations or President
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures following local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Collaborate with company leadership to create and deliver safety training programs for employees.
- Investigate and report on workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Accurately maintain safety records and documentation, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
- Keep abreast of changes in safety regulations and industry best practices to update and enhance existing safety programs.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness through regular communication, campaigns, and recognition programs.
- Respond to and address employee concerns or inquiries related to safety.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Solid understanding of occupational health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey safety information.
- Strong organizational and analytical abilities to conduct thorough safety inspections and incident investigations.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging safety training programs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's Degree or related experience in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven experience in a safety role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Relevant certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), and First Aid/ CPR are preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant safety software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Working inside an office environment with walking, sitting, and filing activities.
- Working on shop floor daily with walking, standing, and inspecting product.
- Some travel to offsite warehouse may be required
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Some job duties may be performed on the factory floor consisting of an open manufacturing environment utilizing zone heating and cooling for temperature control.
- The work environment may also consist of open warehouse operations where fork lifts are present.
- While preforming this job the individual may be exposed to equipment with moving parts. Some equipment may have heat ovens that reach 350 degrees.
- The company utilizes Pentane, a flammable chemical during the manufacturing process. The presence of Pentane requires the company to operate the facility within the guidelines of the Environmental Risk Management Plan Level 3.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
