What are the responsibilities and job description for the Breathwork Instructor position at Focal Massage LLC?
Here’s What We’re About:
Focal Massage is growing, and our wellness division is launching a new series of Focal Wellness Classes to help people move better, breathe deeper, and get out of pain.
These are therapeutic, educational movement classes rooted in breathwork, mobility, mindfulness, and recovery. We're not chasing trends. We’re creating something sustainable where every class is built to support healing, nervous system regulation, and long-term change.
We’re looking for instructors who are passionate about teaching and excited to grow a class community from the ground up. You don’t need to be a sales expert, but you do need to be proactive, friendly, and willing to help spread the word. This isn’t a walk-in style gym. Most of your clients will come because you invited them, connected with them, or followed up.
If you're passionate about helping people feel better and want the freedom to grow your own following within a supportive structure, this is the right spot.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead 45–60 minute small group breathwork sessions
- Guide clients through structured breathing techniques to calm the nervous system, enhance focus, and support healing
- Adapt your approach for clients dealing with chronic pain, stress, trauma, or physical limitations
- Create a safe, grounded space that encourages emotional regulation, self-awareness, and consistency
- Help build your class attendance by connecting with clients, inviting new ones, and following up after class
- Collaborate with our wellness and massage team to align class content with client needs and ongoing care plans
What We’re Looking For:
Must-Haves:
- Certified or experienced in breathwork facilitation (can include Pranayama, Holotropic, Wim Hof, Buteyko, or similar styles)
- Calm, empathetic presence and strong communication skills
- Able to guide beginners and individuals working through pain, anxiety, or trauma
- Willing to engage with clients, help build your class community, and follow up consistently
- Open to collaboration, feedback, and growing through mentorship
Nice-to-Haves:
- Background in nervous system regulation, trauma-informed care, or somatic practices
- Basic knowledge of the fascial or neuromuscular systems (or a curiosity to learn)
- A natural connector — someone who remembers names, checks in with people, and builds real relationships
A Quick Note on Class Attendance:
We’ll support you with the space, the systems, and the strategy — but as the instructor, you’ll play a key role in filling your classes. That means:
- Reaching out to your network
- Following up with first-timers
- Being the reason people keep coming back
This isn’t a corporate gym. You won’t be handed a packed room on day one. But if you’re good with people and believe in what you teach, you’ll grow a solid following — and we’ll be there to help every step of the way.
We WILL provide you with all the tools for success and teach you how to fill up your class.
Why You’ll Love Teaching Here:
- Freedom to design your class your way
- Real connection with your clients
- Support from a skilled therapeutic team
- Mentorship and collaboration opportunities
