Job Summary:
The Field Superintendent is responsible for the financial and technical success of assigned projects. This role ensures that projects meet anticipated profit margins, maximize labor productivity, maintain a safe work environment, and produce high-quality results that satisfy clients.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Foreman and production labor on a project-by-project basis.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Attend internal Handoff Meetings with Estimators to review project scope and requirements.
- Review and understand project specifications, estimates, and bids.
- Conduct pre-production site visits to assess job requirements.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure proper support, equipment, and materials are available.
- Plan and execute project mobilization to ensure all required personnel, equipment, materials are available when needed.
- Visit job sites frequently (at least weekly) to review progress and resolve issues.
- Track job progress and consult with the Senior Project Manager on significant production concerns.
- Communicates daily with Foremen to track job progress and resolve job-related concerns.
- Monitors project timelines and budgets, working proactively with Foremen to address overruns.
- Attends site meetings as necessary to review project status and align expectations.
- Resolves any problems with inaccurate, late or absent field reporting.
- Approve field time reports prior to payroll processing.
- Conducts final walkthroughs and ensures surplus materials are returned to the warehouse upon project completion.
- Oversees punch list completion and quality control to expedite project closure and retention collection.
- Ensures proper use, maintenance, and retrieval of tools and equipment from job sites.
- Verifies that Foremen report any damaged or malfunctioning tools, vehicles, or equipment.
- Enforces company safety policies, ensuring crews attend weekly safety meetings.
- Supports Foremen in resolving on-site safety concerns with clients or general contractors.
- Reviews accident reports and follow-up per company policies.
- Ensures best practices, tools, and techniques are utilized to maximize productivity.
- Evaluates manpower quality and quantity, making personnel recommendations as needed.
- Participates in performance evaluations and adheres to corporate policies.
- Maintains professional, cooperative relationships with teammates, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and clients.
- Comply with all corporate policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to assess team members’ strengths and weaknesses, delegating responsibilities to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, adapt to shifting priorities, and perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction project supervision.
- Valid, unencumbered driver’s license.
- Bilingual preferred; willingness to learn Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements: Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking, standing, and navigating outdoor job sites, often on uneven or rough terrain.
- Regular bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing to inspect work progress and ensure compliance with project standards.
- Works in diverse outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Potential exposure to job site hazards, such as fumes, chemicals, moving machinery, and electrical risks.
- Ability to wear and properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety vests, hard hats, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Periodic desk-based work, including reviewing project plans, preparing reports, and communicating via email and phone.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, handling paperwork, and operating office equipment.
- Occasional lifting of office supplies and documents, up to 20 pounds.
- Strong visual acuity for reading site plans, contracts, and performing quality inspections.
- Clear verbal communication skills for effective coordination with field teams, vendors, and clients.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position with an onsite work model, Work hours are generally Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00P.M., however some flexibility of the schedule is permissible with supervisor approval. Overtime, evenings and weekend work may be required, as well as occasional day-time travel.
Pay:
$25-40/hour
