What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Mechanic position at Fōcus - an Ōnin Group company?
What You'll Do
- Perform troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on Stryker vehicle systems and subsystems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS).
- Diagnose and repair automotive systems, including engine, transmission, suspension, cooling, and driveline using test equipment, built-in diagnostics (BITE), and manual procedures.
- Disassemble, replace, and reassemble worn or damaged components using technical manuals and schematics.
- Address hydraulic system faults across all Stryker variants.
- Complete all required documentation and maintenance forms.
- Maintain accountability for tools, test equipment, and company property.
- Operate with a high degree of computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred).
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience required.
- Must be a U.S. person with the ability to access military facilities and maintain ASR compliance.
- Valid state driver's license; able to obtain a tank driver's license if required.
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with IETMs, schematics, and vehicle configurations.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a collaborative work style.
- Documented trade school, certified technical training, or commercial training.
- Ability to work in both improved and field maintenance environments.
- Flexible to adapt to changing customer schedules.
- Willingness to travel within the U.S. and internationally (OCONUS), as required.
