Focus Capital is looking for a rock star senior software engineer with extensive Python and full stack development experience to join our partner’s startup technology firm. The company is already profitable and has a tech platform with over 50,000 active users.
This biotechnology startup that has revolutionized the acceleration of genetic research and what is now considered 'biohacking' through the use of advanced AI. The company has been the catalyst in researching new cures from once untreatable health issues and DNA-based research.
In this role, you will develop interactive web applications to empower researchers to visualize results and genomic sequences that enable researchers and scientists to uncover new insights and medical breakthroughs. You will have front to back ownership of new web applications and technology tools, including the back-end code, microservices, REST APIs and UIs.
You would be joining a rapidly growing startup that is already profitable and has attracted some of the tops minds in technology. Trending towards a massive growth phase in Q3 / Q4 2025, will provide equity and career mobility in terms of compensation and leadership.
The role is based in San Francisco and requires going onsite 3x per week
Minimum Qualifications :
- 5 years of experience programming in Python (must be willing to work with new technologies i.e Golang).
- Prior experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React and Angular
- TypeScript experience is a plus
- Tangible experience working with ETL, relational databases, SQL, NoSQL or MongoDB.
- Desire to work in biotech
- Prior professional experience with cloud environments (i.e. AWS, GCP)
- Familiarity with CI / CD concepts
- Data visualization experience is a plus
- A bachelors or higher in computer science or a related field
- Must have excellent communication skills.
