Job Title: Medical Assistant

Overview: We are seeking dedicated and skilled Medical Assistants to join our dynamic healthcare teams at our Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care and Bariatric Medicine clinics. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. This position requires a balance of clinical proficiency and compassionate patient interaction, supporting our commitment to improving patient health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently register new patients, update existing patient details, and manage patient flow by rooming patients promptly and preparing them for their consultation.
- Conduct initial patient interviews to gather chief complaints and current health concerns, enhancing the effectiveness of subsequent medical assessments.
- Conduct routine clinical tasks such as measuring vital signs, performing EKGs, and administering injections.
- Assist in patient screening processes including physical examinations and medical history assessments.
- May perform specialized procedures relevant to each clinic, such as drug testing, phlebotomy, spirometry, audiometry, and vision testing (training provided).
- Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation of all patient interactions and procedures.
- Provide patient education and support, particularly for bariatric patients in areas of nutrition, lifestyle changes, and weight management.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and follow-up.
- Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment in accordance with healthcare laws and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR minimum one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Proficient in managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and professional demeanor with a strong patient service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in occupational and/or bariatric medicine clinics highly desirable.
- Certifications and/or experience in administering drug tests, urine and blood draws, vision tests, spirometry, and hearing tests.
