Part Time Employment with Full Time Potential
Focus Optical Alignment Incorporated, (Focus) a growing technical company with a local office based in White Mountain area, is looking for the right candidate to assist with Millwright type duties in Industrial complexes.
Must be 18 years old or older, must be drug free and may be required to perform drug test(s) for any and all of our customers, upon request.
Must be willing to travel within the Northeast, and at times throughout the U.S. We have offices in PA, MS, NH, VA and WA. (All travel, flights, hotels and per diem will be paid for or reimbursed by Focus)
You MUST be very responsible, be on time, motivated and ready to work, PLEASE, this is the most IMPORTANT part of employment, if you cannot be readily available to work and sometimes with very short notice and at all hours of the day, please do not apply. This sort of schedule is rare but, it does happen.
A High school diploma or GED equivalency is desired, but more importantly, you must have good aptitude and be willing to learn new skills.
A vehicle and a driver’s license are required, as well as a social security card and/or passport. You must have a working cell phone with reliable service. (After 60 days of employment the monthly cost of your cell phone is paid by us, up to $50.00 a month as well as some other expenses, i.e. work boots, work pants, gloves etc.)
Must be able to lift 60lbs, crawl, work off your knees, use ladders and be able to stand and walk for long hours under various industrial conditions. Additionally, heat, cold, dirt and grease as well as wet conditions are all part of an Industrial work area. You need to understand this happens frequently but, usually the work itself is not very physically demanding.
Previous Industrial, commercial or construction work experience is a plus, but not required. You will be trained to work safely! Our safety policies will be followed, as well as all safety training that is required by our customers. Basic computer skills are a plus. (Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe, Outlook, etc.)
Some training may be necessary, and the successful hire will be compensated at a prorated wage. Training is usually one to two days a week for 2 to 6 hours a day. The schedule is designed to be very flexible, which should benefit anyone with another job or school. Your commuting mileage costs will be covered during training. Work for customers is usually 2 to 5 times a month, while working only 1 to 2 days, with hours ranging from 4 to 12 a day. We charge 8 hours minimum, so you'll never get less than that on a job. We usually have 1 or 2 jobs a year that may require being away from home.
Starting Field wage $26.00 an hour. Travel time is paid on a prorated rate. Overtime and double time apply daily, if so billed. Meaning you don't have to work 40 hours in order to receive overtime pay for one 10-hour day.
