What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - PRN position at Focus Treatment Center?
PRN position
The
medical provider will provide necessary medical services to Focus Healthcare of
TN, maintain uninterrupted medical coverage when absent from the facility, meet
with clinical team to review patient progress, oversee and support medical care
provided by all nurse practitioners, and provide medical clearance for patients
with questionable health concerns to ensure they are appropriate for facility
services. This position includes on-call
duties 2-3 weekends monthly and six weeks during the year to cover for Medical
Director’s time off. Candidates
considered for this position include MD, DO, Psychiatrist, or Psychiatric Nurse
Practitioner. When on call, PRN duties
include meeting with detox patients daily. During weekly coverage, duties
include meeting with detox patients daily and any routine follow-up visits of
other patients. Doctors will be classified
as contracted staff and Nurse Practitioners will be PRN employees. Current
Tennessee Medical Doctor or other practitioner license. Maintains continuing
professional development, liability insurance coverage, DEA license, and CPR
certification. Experience as a medical provider
in an inpatient setting or comparable medical/leadership role or an addiction
specialist is desirable. Maintains high
quality medical standards according to current standards of practice and uses
of medication. Attends all required meetings/programs
annually. Must have the training (course
work, in-service education and other on-the-job training) to provide care to
patients in the adult category. Recovering
individuals must have a minimum of two years of continuous chemical or eating
disorder abstinence and must be active in support groups. Job
