Position : Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Commitment : Full-time, 11 months
Rate : Up to $70 per hour
Reports to : Chief Academic & Student Services Officer
We are searching for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to join our partner school in Lynchburg, VA.
Responsibilities :
- Analyzes all environmental variables that influence behavior and learning to evaluate and implement scientifically sound, evidence-based supports.
- Consults with teachers, principals, and other administrative personnel to facilitate optimal behavioral performance for staff and students throughout the organizational structure.
- Provides specialized behavior analysis and support for learners who exhibit challenging behaviors at his / her assigned schools.
- Guides the implementation of Social Emotional Learning through sound behavioral best practices.
- Provides leadership in all aspects of applied behavioral analysis and its implementation.
Essential Functions :
Collaborate with instructional staff, related service providers, other school personnel, families, and various community agencies to improve the overall quality of student outcomes, and achieve established classroom objectives.Design positive behavior support plans.Assess student progress towards objectives, expectations, and / or goals (e.g. behavioral, social, motor development and communication skills, academic needs, vocational abilities, etc.) using consistent data collection to provide feedback to students, families, and administration.Guide team members as they work to manage student behavior to provide a safe and optimal learning environment using the principles of positive reinforcement and consistent implementation of behavioral techniques.Participate in various meetings to convey and / or gather information required to perform expected job duties.Submit reports required by the Director for Student Services in a prompt manner.Serve on school and / or community teams as needed.Provide a full range of behavior analytic services to schools following federal, state, and local regulations.Determine school-wide needs for specific social work services through consultation with the principal and school staff, establish priorities for service delivery within assigned schools, and perform specialized social work in an educational setting to enable students to perform successfully in academics, behavior, and culture.Consult with teachers, administration, and other education professionals in applying behavior support.Provide in-service training to teachers and administrative staff on various behavioral topics, social-emotional learning, and other related training.Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services.Perform other duties as directed by the school board.Qualifications :
BCBA Licensed (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) credentialsNon-BCBA credentials are considered if enrolled in the BCBA programMaster's Degree requiredMinimum of 2 years experience in the role of BCBA and special education teacher certification preferred.Experience conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments and development of Behavior Intervention PlansExperience working with learners with behavior disorders in an educational environmentExperience conducting formal and informal assessments using curriculum-based tools or progress monitoring measuresExperience collecting data for academic, behavioral, communication, and social skills, as well as graphically displaying dataHas experience developing individualized reinforcement systems for different learners in inclusive education environmentsExperience conducting staff training and professional development programsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Ability to adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Code of Ethics.Ability to conduct telephone-based or in-person interviews, data collection, and data entry.Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening, empathy, and relationship building.Ability to interact in a non-judgmental manner with culturally diverse populations and persons experiencing a wide range of social conditions.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to use sound judgment in responding to client issues and concerns.Ability to adapt to changing environments and receive constructive feedback.Knowledge of and experience with the school's organization, policies, and practices (preferred).Ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality, and ethical conduct.Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, establishing and maintaining collaborative professional relationships.Strong time management skills (organization, prioritization, multitasking).Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Proficiency with the use of computers (desktop, laptop, tablet).Proficiency with the use of mobile devices (smartphones, mobile apps).Solid knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office and Google Drive, and ability to learn new technical programs / practices as needed.Solid knowledge and understanding of equitable practices that create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for the staff, students, and community members.Supervisory Responsibility :
The BCBA may supervise behavior teams, behavior coaches, RBT's, or other assigned behavior personnel.Travel Requirements :
