At Focused Staffing, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our Special Services Department.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluation and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in students.
- Treatment Planning: Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with speech-language challenges.
- Therapy Provision: Utilize evidence-based diagnostic tools and therapy techniques to support curriculum goals.
- Clinical Education: Train and educate students, parents, and other professionals on effective communication strategies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other specialists to ensure cohesive goal achievement.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and report progress to stakeholders.
- Program Coordination: Organize school programs and coordinate services with other student services departments.
- School Community Participation: Attend school events and contribute to the overall school community.
Requirements:
- A valid NJDOE Speech-Language Specialist certificate is mandatory.
- A Master's degree in speech-language pathology, communication disorders, or speech-language and hearing science is required.
- A Speech/Language Pathologist Professional License from the State of New Jersey is necessary; ASHA certification is preferred but not essential for CFYs with accessible supervision.
- The ability to stand and work continuously for at least four hours per day is crucial.
- The capacity to use arms and hands without restrictions is essential for accommodating student needs.
- A favorable criminal background check and child registry check are obligatory, along with a 2-step Tuberculin test.
