Position : Speech Language Pathologist
Rate : Up to $80 per hour
Job Goal : The key role of the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is to identify students with a communication disorder that may adversely affect a child’s educational performance and / or to address the communication needs of students who have been identified as needing Speech Language Services within the school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : :
- Assess students to identify potential communication deficits / needs including articulation, expressive / receptive, and pragmatic language
- Write evaluation reports and Evaluation Summary Reports based on student needs
- Generate, implement, and monitor Individualized Educational Programs
- Plan and provide services for students with speech / language impairment as well as students with various disabilities qualifying for speech as a related service
- Provide transdisciplinary speech and language services within the natural context of the school day
- Support use of Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) tools for students including modeling / support for classroom staff
- Serve students and assist staff with feeding / swallowing concerns
- Maintain case records for students including service logs, progress monitoring, and quarterly goal reporting
- Complete documentation of services and progress reports for Cost Recovery (Medicaid)
- Collaborate and consult with parents, teachers, and other school staff
- Create a schedule designed to meet all students’ service needs in collaboration with school / staff schedules
