Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 18 credits in special education and 6 credits in education theory.
- Must hold a Pennsylvania Special Education certificate, or a Pennsylvania Private Academic certification with the ability to attain public certification within one year of hire.
- 1-3 years of experience working with students with autism or emotional support is required; student teaching can be included.
- Demonstrated ability to develop classroom strategies that promote an effective teaching and learning environment.
- Must obtain and maintain agency physical management certification credentials.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing, supervising, and implementing students’ IEP plans.
- Creating and coordinating student schedules with related services and general education.
- Collecting and analyzing student data, while monitoring student progress.
- Effectively collaborating with a large team of professionals to coordinate services.
- Participating in staff development training focused on working with students with Special Needs.
- Implementing state-of-the-art strategies to work effectively with students with Special Needs.
Salary: Up to $62,000 DOE
