Position: American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter
Rate: Up to $51/hour
Work Setup: only required to come to school 30 days per school year

What You'll Do:
As our ASL Interpreter, you'll be a crucial link in ensuring clear communication between hearing and Deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals. Your responsibilities will include:
- Accurate Interpretation: Providing accurate and impartial interpretation services from spoken English to American Sign Language (ASL) and from ASL to spoken English.
- Diverse Settings: Interpreting in diverse environments, including classrooms, meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Accessibility: Ensuring clear communication for individuals with varying levels of ASL proficiency.
- Ethical Conduct: Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) code of professional conduct.
- Adaptability: Adapting interpretations to accommodate different signing styles and regional sign variations.
- Clarification: Clarifying and explaining concepts as needed while maintaining the integrity of the message.
- Inclusive Environment: Assisting in creating an inclusive and accessible environment for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
- Professional Growth: Engaging in professional development to stay updated on best practices in ASL interpreting and Deaf culture.
What You'll Need:
Physical Requirements:
- Proven experience as an ASL Interpreter (required)
- A Pennsylvania resident; preferably within or near Philadelphia
- Valid ASL Certificate (preferred)
