Custodian - 2nd Shift
We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated 2nd Shift Custodian to help maintain our facilities. Our ideal candidate is careful and thorough, cleaning and tidying the premises with great care and an eye for detail. We prefer applicants who have some professional custodial experience.
Custodian Duties and Responsibilities:
- Taking out the trash, tidying, collect recycling, rearranging furniture, and wiping surfaces as needed
- Maintain floors in a clean state by sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and waxing, as well as vacuuming carpets
- Daily cleaning and sanitizing of all bathroom facilities, including toilets, sinks, showers, and mirrors
- Restock necessary items, such as soap and paper products
- General outdoor services and maintenance, such as watering plants, mowing the lawn, sweeping entry areas, cleaning glass doors at entrances
- Safe and proper use of insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous pests
- Clean and service custodial equipment as needed
- Perform minor repairs on furniture, buildings, and equipment
Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department Lock and unlock windows, doors, and gates
Custodian Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Some professional work experience as custodian, janitor, or a similar role a plus
- Understanding of safety protocols such as disposal of chemicals and other hazardous items
- Comfortable with basic landscaping and maintenance tasks
- Able to work 8 hours on your feet and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing maintenance tasks
- Ability to climb ladders and work from heights
- Familiar with operating, caring for, and storing custodial equipment and supplies
- Act 34, Act 114 and Act 151
Clearances Required PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is expected to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
