What are the responsibilities and job description for the Datacenter Operations Technician position at FOCUSKPI INC?
FocusKPI is looking for a Datacenter Operations Technician to join the one of our clients, a high-tech, SaaS company.
Our client is seeking for a data center technician to help maintain datacenter facilities around the globe. They will be part of a small but growing team of very talented people responsible for maintaining the cloud that hundreds of millions of people use to store their data.
- Works daily, on-site at a datacenter site in a given region (Hillsboro, Oregon)
- Reports to DCO manager or local region/site DCO lead
Work Location: On-site (US - Hillsboro, Oregon)
Duration: 12 months contract with potential for extension or conversion depending on your performance in future
Pay Range: $25/hr to $31/hr
Responsibilities:
- Replace ticketed component (HDD, SSD, DIMM, PSU, fan)
- Receive/send packages for replaced components (RMAs)
- Assist with regular site maintenance activity (inventory, cleanup, etc.)
- Escalate complex and/or abnormal issues on site with the DCO team
- This role is not limited to a single data center location, role will support all Hillsboro, OR locations
Requirements:
- Experience with desktop PC and/or datacenter server hardware
- Intermediate knowledge of linux, operational understanding of and how to modify/add dns zone files, experience using version control such as git or hg, basic scripting and regular expressions
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Able to lift 20-30 lbs on a daily basis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
