Fogbelt Brewing Co. seeks a Cellar Person in our production facility in Santa Rosa, CA. This position would work directly under the Head Brewer in all aspects of the production process. Job Summary: Responsible for working in a team environment to produce a consistent, quality packaged beer while maintaining sanitary and safe working conditions by performing the following duties:
- Keep accurate records for packaging and inventory.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
- Responsible for CIP and preparation of fermentation, bright beer, and serving tanks.
- Responsible for finished beer handling, including but not limited to carbonation and packaging preparation. Available to lift and move up to 125 lb. Maintain an organized and neat cold room.
- Responsible for proper handling of yeast propagation, including but not limited to inoculation, pitching, harvesting, and CIP.
- Ensure sensory evaluation is monitored responsibly and results are communicated constructively.
- Maintain a sanitary environment, including but not limited to cleaning floors, drains, walls, tanks, hoses, and other equipment.
- Participate in company events as needed while maintaining professional composure.
- Operate forklift and other material handling equipment, if Needed.
- Mechanical repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Comfortable working with chemicals of varying composition and maintaining adherence to safety standards during routine cleaning of brewing equipment.
- Keg washing, responsible for the cleanliness outside of kegs and running semi-manual keg washer.
Requirements
- Work on a ladder periodically up to 18 feet.
- Physically be able to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs, stand all day, lift 55 pounds, work in a non-temperature-controlled environment, and repeatedly handle hot and cold liquids.
- Able to stand for long periods (up to 8-10 hours per day).
- Strictly follow standard operating procedures while recommending ways of improving them.
- Willingness to work occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical and mechanical skills (beneficial)
- Computer and spreadsheet proficiency (beneficial)
- High School Diploma / GED. Some form of higher education. Brewing, Engineering, or other related education and experience preferred
- 21 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
- Passion for craft beer!
