Starting Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000 Performance-Based Bonuses

Summary

The Associate Account Manager serves as a junior client management team member. They are responsible for fostering client relationships and ensuring overall client success. The role focuses on managing communications, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting strategic initiatives. 


Foghorn Labs is an independently owned digital marketing agency that works with outdoor and active lifestyle brands. We have offices in Portland and Bend, OR.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned client relationships with a specific focus on reaching the goals outlined in the initial statement of work.
  • Run effective meetings for managed accounts. This includes owning agendas, selecting attendees, ensuring notes are taken, and following up with summaries. 
  • Implement and optimize paid media campaigns with the assistance of paid media specialists to advance client goals.
  • Escalate potential issues to management before they put the engagement or client success at risk. 
  • Share wins, losses, and key learnings from managed accounts with team members, updating documentation of processes or tasks as needed.
  • Uncover areas of opportunity within client’s digital marketing campaigns, and support the successful implementation of related optimizations.
  • Consult with the management team on the prioritization of tasks assigned to team members via Asana based on complexity, urgency, and bandwidth. 
  • Uncover areas of opportunity within managed accounts, share them with management, and work together to grow monthly retainers. 
  • Work with management on client strategy presentations (quarterly or annually) focused on industry trends, emerging best practices, and relevant learnings from comparable clients.
  • Contribute to case studies and thought leadership content published on Foghorn’s blog, social media channels, sales material, or trade presentations, particularly as they relate to managed accounts. 
  • Keep up to date on digital marketing trends and industry news related to key clients.  
  • Continue to hone expertise in Foghorn Labs service areas, client success, relationship management, and industry trends. Train and mentor clients and team members on key learnings and recent developments.
  • Collaborate with content marketing team members to develop best practice collateral, blog posts, and case studies to be used for maintaining and growing company revenue. 


Minimum Qualifications 

  • BA/BS degree, ideally in business (marketing, economics, management, leadership, entrepreneurship) or language arts (English, creative writing). BA/BS requirement waived for candidates with equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience, excluding internships, in client management, ideally in a digital marketing capacity.
  • 1-2 years of experience, excluding internships, working in a digital marketing agency with increasing levels of responsibility.

Expertise in at least one Paid Media Channel:

  • Paid Social Advertising (META, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, X)
  • Paid Search Advertising (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads)
  • Amazon Ads Advertising

Bonus if you have expertise in one or more of these areas:

  • Familiarity with navigating and running reports in at least one of the following CMS systems: Shopify, WordPress, BigCommerce, Magento, Volusion.
  • Experience with at least one of the following email marketing platforms: Klaviyo, MailChimp, Drip, ConstantContact, or Bronto. 
  • Fluency within at least two of the following web analytics tools: Google Analytics, Optmyzr, SEMRush, Moz, Raven Tools, Hotjar, KISSmetrics, Trendkite, Triple Whale, Helium 10.



  • Ability to adapt quickly, think strategically, and seek solutions to unfamiliar challenges. 
  • Capable of recognizing trends and anomalies within large amounts of data.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail in a project management capacity.
  • Ability to oversee tasks and projects to completion, on time, and mindful of client goals. 
  • Clear, concise, and compelling communication skills (written and verbal) across all responsibility areas.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets as well as PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides.
  • Passionate about the evolution of marketing and being outside.
  • Plays well with others.
