Job Summary:
As a Hotel Banquet Server at MacArthur Place, you will play a crucial role in the success of our banquet and catering events. Your primary responsibility is to provide exceptional service, ensuring a seamless and memorable dining experience for our guests. From setting up banquet rooms to serving food and beverages with precision and grace, your contributions will uphold the high standards of our establishment and enhance overall guest satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions:
Event Setup: Collaborate with the banquet team to set up banquet rooms according to event specifications. This includes arranging tables, chairs, linens, and decorations to create a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment for guests.
Guest Reception: Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor upon arrival. Escort them to their assigned tables, present menus, and offer any necessary assistance or information to ensure a smooth start to their experience.
Order Taking: Accurately take food and beverage orders, paying close attention to detail and confirming any special dietary requirements or preferences. Ensure that all orders are relayed accurately to the kitchen staff.
Service Excellence: Serve plated meals or buffet-style offerings in a timely and professional manner, adhering to proper serving etiquette and maintaining high presentation standards. Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to their requests or inquiries.
Table Maintenance: Monitor and maintain table settings throughout the event. Clear empty plates and glasses, refill beverages, and ensure the dining area remains clean and organized.
Event Support: Assist with the breakdown and cleanup of banquet rooms at the conclusion of events. This includes clearing tables, removing decorations, and returning equipment to storage areas.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen and catering/event/sales staff to coordinate food and beverage service, ensuring smooth execution of events and a high level of guest satisfaction.
Compliance: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, as well as hotel policies and procedures, to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for both guests and team members. Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards. Strict compliance with all company & departmental policies & procedures to include time & attendance, meal & rest breaks, uniform standards, etc.
Additional Duties: Perform other related services and duties as assigned by supervisors and management, contributing to the overall success of the banquet team.
Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience in banquet or catering service is preferred but not required. We provide training for candidates eager to learn and grow in the hospitality industry.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with guests and team members.
Multitasking Abilities: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring efficient service delivery during events.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate event schedules and guest needs.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift heavy items up to 50 pounds, carry trays of food and beverages, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
Certifications: Ability to obtain and complete food and beverage handling training as required.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
Work Environment:
This role involves exposure to varying indoor and outdoor conditions and temperatures. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, weekdays and holidays as needed.
