Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Operations the Cellar Supervisor position tends to the day-to-day operation of the cellar team. Position performs advanced and highly complex tasks requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, independent decision making and detailed knowledge of all positions and procedures. The Cellar Supervisor is held accountable to the successful management of the Cellar department while adhering to all FFW objectives for Safety, Quality. Courtesy, Efficiency and Excellence. Is responsible for directing, managing, leading, training and developing all Cellar employees to achieve department and individual objectives. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as safe and efficient as possible.

- Creates, manages, develops, trains and follows all cellar sanitation standards and procedures to drive Right First Time Quality.
- Understands and Promotes teamwork among personnel, demonstrates leadership and professionalism, serves as a role model.
- Lead teams and responsible for daily effectiveness of work order allocation and tasks to achieve results. Drives results through performance monitoring and alignment against site objectives.
- Manages and trains on advanced and complex cellar activities including but not limited to assemble blends per Winemaker instructions, add fining agents for clarify wine, etc.
- Ability to proficiently operate and train on advanced equipment such as pumps, lift truck, lees filter, cross flow filter, press, etc.
- Provide feedback to Winemaking, Cellar, and Barrel staff on best practices.
- Leads, develops, trains and be an active participant in any CI/Lean programs like 5S program. (Sort, Set in order, Standardize, Sweep, Sustain).
- Responsible for compliance with sustainability policies and practices, which are economically viable, socially acceptable and environmentally sound. This is done by supporting programs at each location for conservation, energy efficiency, and recycling, which are critical for our operations to achieve tangible environmental results.
- High School Diploma/ GED and may require advanced education, training or certifications.
- 8-15 years of Cellar Operator understanding and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written through work orders.
- Proficiency of basic computers skills: MS Word, MS Outlook, Enterprise Systems and other winery systems
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Proficient in operation of Cellar equipment
- Ability to work various shifts and overtime as needed, operate machinery, knowledge of hand tools, and read/use meters
- Posses basic math skills
- Work Environment:
- Works outdoors/indoors, warm/cold climates, and on wet surfaces
- Is exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or toxic chemicals
- Works near moving, mechanical parts and lift truck traffic
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to move up to 55 lbs
- Use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms
- Climb or balance stairs/ladders
