Position Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of the plant including safety, hiring and performance management, production, customer service, quality, scheduling maintenance and purchasing. This person will coordinate and lead a team of individuals responsible for providing all necessary work needed by the plant. This individual reports to the Operations Manager and works in conjunction with other managers and personnel to complete the production requirements of the entire plant while overseeing productivity.
Essential Job Functions/Duties:
- Promotes and abides by all safety, environmental and company policies.
- Successfully hire, supervise, orient and train plant personnel in disciplines that will improve safety, performance; communication and development.
- Promote and maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
- Ensure compliance with production and delivery schedule by having necessary (parts, supplies, tools and equipment) available to complete daily tasks.
- Ability to operate the standard equipment in the area including overhead cranes, and job specific tools or machines.
- Ability to coordinate, lead, direct and monitor plant employees in completing the necessary tasks in an efficient and safe manner to achieve daily production goals.
- Direct or attend required meetings. Provide the necessary information as outlined by the Operations Manager and COO.
- Schedule or direct the scheduling of the plant.
- Assist in inventory cycle counts while ensuring maintained yard organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with reinforced concrete pipe, precast, and bridge components.
- Strong mechanical background with emphasis on hydraulics trouble shooting and preventative maintenance systems
- Must have excellent communication skills and working knowledge in MS office software.
- Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to work on your feet for most of the day in a production/plant environment subject to an unheated and non-air-conditioned environment.
- Ability to perform standard mathematic skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Ability to lead and direct other individuals and work with other team leaders
