POSITION PROFILE

As Plant Manager, you will be the operational leader responsible for the overall management of our company's production activities. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, you will lead the operational team to achieve production objectives while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, Coordinate, and Oversee Plant Operations

  • Develop and execute daily, weekly, and long-term production plans to meet business objectives.
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure that production targets are met on time and within budget.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Build and maintain a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and employee engagement.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with departments such as Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and HR to align goals and resolve operational challenges.

Production & Quality Optimization

  • Monitor production efficiency, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure finished products meet quality standards and oversee quality control protocols.

Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality or safety.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure plant performance and identify areas for cost optimization.

Health & Safety Management

  • Establish and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, ensuring the team follows best practices.

Resource Management

  • Oversee the allocation and utilization of human, material, and technological resources to maximize productivity.
  • Ensure adequate inventory levels of raw materials, supplies, and equipment to prevent production delays.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify operational inefficiencies and lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies, proposing and implementing new solutions to enhance productivity.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, industrial engineering, or a related field. A master's degree would be an asset.

- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a leadership role in the manufacturing sector.

- Excellent understanding of manufacturing operations, in-depth knowledge of quality control procedures, and experience in implementing advanced technologies.

- Strong leadership skills, the ability to motivate and inspire a team, results-oriented.

- Proven experience in budget management and maximizing operational profitability.

- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

- Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed operational objectives.

- Commitment to employee safety and proven experience in implementing safety protocols.
