Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Loader/Unloader to join our team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and accurate loading and unloading of furniture goods, ensuring that all products are handled with care and efficiency. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload furniture and heavy crates in and out of box trucks using appropriate equipment.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts and skates to move items safely throughout the warehouse.
- Perform order picking tasks to fulfill order requests accurately.
- Assist with will-call, shipping and receiving duties
- Regular pick-up and drop off of box trucks to and from the rental location
- Ability to drive box to trucks up to 26ft, in and out of the loading dock.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and resolve any issues that arise during loading/unloading processes.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid drivers license with a clean drivers record.
- Must have experience driving and maneuvering box trucks up to 26ft
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating pallet jacks, order pickers, forklifts is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required by the job.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in order picking and inventory management.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed by the operation.
