Follett is searching for a Payroll Specialist to join our team! The ideal candidate must be highly organized and detail-oriented with a solid background in payroll processing.
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing and reconciling weekly, and bi-weekly payroll, performing audits, and ensuring the accuracy of employee deductions. This role requires proficiency in payroll procedures and excellent analytical skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions
· Process union weekly and office bi-weekly payrolls. Manage reconciliations to ensure all data is accurate before final submission for approximately 400 employees across multiple states.
· Manage the entries of financial data into our ERP system after the transmission of payroll.
· Audit, analyze, and reconcile multiple payroll reports to ensure the accuracy of payroll changes and adjustments.
· Assist the general accounts receivable team by resolving customer questions, collecting delinquent accounts, and processing credit card payments.
· Maintain department flow by providing appropriate backup as needed. Particularly on customer invoicing, cash application, and the accounts payable invoicing process.
· Assist the finance department in accomplishing corporate and departmental goals by performing special assignments as necessary.
· Protect the integrity of company information by keeping financial data confidential.
Requirements
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in an accounting-related field preferred.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong proficiency in Excel.
· Competent math & computational skills.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
· Office environment – temperature controlled.
· Extended periods of sitting, occasional standing, and walking.
· Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
· Regular use of hands and fingers to type on the keyboard, operate a computer mouse, use of telephone, and various office equipment.
· Extended periods of viewing a computer monitor.
· Noise level in the work environment: low to moderate.
