What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Peer Specialist position at FOND DU LAC COUNTY?
This position is part of the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) clinical treatment team within Fond du Lac County Human Services. A Certified Peer Recovery Specialist is a person in recovery from a behavioral health condition (substance use, mental health, or co-occurring) who has undergone proper training and experience to work in a peer support provider role who provides mentoring, advocating, and support/motivation others who are experiencing challenges.
- Assists potential clients through intake, referrals, and linkage to outside programming.
- Transports clients to meetings, court hearings, appointments, and/or activities that are supportive of recovery needs.
- Assists individuals in treatment to identify interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery.
- Participates in community prevention activities.
- Provides support to drug court participants and clients engaged in IOP.
- Advocates for the best interest of the client.
- Identify emergency or crisis situations and facilitate access to appropriate resources.
- Maintain confidentially regarding client information.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.86 - $26.28 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
