Probationary Period: 90 days – Full time; 120 days – Part time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Classification: Child-Related CA
Driver’s License: Class D Driver’s License required. Must have a vehicle with proof of insurance with liability being the minimum coverage and must be insurable under Fond du Lac’s insurance requirements.
Wage Range: $22.34 to $25.13

    Responsibilities: Educate local youth and community on the five crimes.
    Facility youth groups on various topics related to the five crimes.
    Identify and maintain a calendar of cultural events; educational, training, employment and healthy lifestyle opportunities.
    Establish methods of informing client population of on-going events and pertinent information. (I.e. newspaper, list serves, flyers, newsletters, e-mail).
    Maintain a list of local individuals that are available to conduct ceremonies for community members.
    Be knowledgeable of services available and criteria for access.
    Develop a network with providers including probation and detention systems.
    Work with Arrowhead Juvenile Center to build relationships with potential clients.
    Accept referrals and assess needs.
    Complete and maintain an individual Service Plan with each client.
    Develop discharge plans for incarcerated clients.
    Maintain written client records according to policy.
    Consult with and refer to other service providers to address client needs.
    Advocate for clients with families and serve as liaison with other providers.
    Organize and/or provide transportation for clients as needed.
    Perform follow-up visits to support client plans following release.
    Attend meetings as directed by the Social Services Coordinator.
    Submit reports as directed.
    Appropriate/Professional work attire is required.
    Must attend all mandatory department trainings.
    Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees and/or clients.
    Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
    Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
    Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
    Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
    Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary

    Qualifications: A.A./A.S. degree in Human Services or closely related field; two years’ experience in victim advocacy; or a combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work is preferred.
    Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, data bases and/or data entry, Spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook is required.
    Knowledge of Native American communities, culture, customs, and beliefs is preferred.
    Experience working with Native Americans clients, communities and is able to demonstrate cultural sensitivity is preferred.
    Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
    Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
    Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
    Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
    Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
    Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
    Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations.
    Travel is required.
