What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Specialist position at Fond du Lac Reservation?
- Responsibilities: Complete and maintain an inventory and inventory database for equipment, and various other items.
- Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
Oversee inventory and order additional products and supplies when needed.
Research and resolve shortages and overages found while doing inventory.
Ensure products are rotated to prevent expiration.
Maintain records and develop reports for the reconciliation of inventories and accounting of payment receipts.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure inventory is available for their needs.
Responsible for inventories for all facilities managed by the Human Services Division.
Reconcile inventory record logs and conduct regular inventory audits.
Ensures that all invoices and financial reports are reconciled on a monthly basis.
Make recommendations on inventory systems and improvements.
Travel to multiple work locations as needed and/or directed.
Maintain accurate records/files of inventory related documents.
Communicates inventory status and issues to supervisor.
Appropriate/Professional work attire is required.
Must attend all mandatory department trainings.
Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees and/or clients.
Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Qualifications: Valid U.S. Class D Driver’s License is required.
- Occasional lifting, moving, and relocating items weighing less than 50 pounds is required.
A High School Diploma is required. A certificate or associate’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is preferred.
One year of experience working with inventory information systems or equivalent training is required.
Knowledge of inventory processes and inventory management practices is required.
Knowledge of related processes and paperwork supporting inventory transactions is required.
Demonstration of organizational skills are required.
Must have the ability to manage multiple projects at one time in an efficient and timely manner.
Demonstrates written and verbal communication skills are required.
The ability to problem solve and to come up with ways to improve overall efficiency and overcome inventory issues is required.
Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, databases and/or data entry, spreadsheet, and Microsoft Outlook is required.
Demonstrated experience working with Native American communities, culture customs and beliefs is preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with Native American Clients, communities and is able to demonstrate cultural sensitivity is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with
all parties involved.
