What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Data Manager position at Fond du Lac Reservation?
- Responsibilities: Maintain data system, mapping the movement of data between systems, aggregating and transforming data in accordance with policy and requirements.
- Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
Develop appropriate methodologies and policies for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data products.
Collaborate with data stewards, data stakeholders, and management to ensure improvement measures.
Develop useful and insightful information from a variety of data research sources.
Maintain well organized and documented data files.
Ensure integrity of data usage and access.
Communicate recommendations to other teams and senior staff members.
Understanding data storage and data sharing methods.
Understand health care operations and systems.
Exercise the highest degree of confidentiality and discretion with all research data.
Provide ongoing data analysis in support of HSD initiatives and programs.
Appropriate/Professional work attire is required.
Must attend all mandatory department trainings.
Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees and/or clients.
Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.

- Qualifications: Valid U.S. Class D Driver’s license is required.
- Normal physical requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in data science or related field is required.
Experience in analytic data management or a combination of education and experience is required.
Proven experience in healthcare clinic or human services setting is required. Experience in Tribal 638 or IHS setting is preferred.
Proficiency in database programming languages such as Structured Query Language (SQL), Export, Transform, and Load (ETL), Data warehousing, data mining, mathematics, statistics, and Microsoft Office is required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as effective communication skills are required.
Experience with data visualization tools is required.
Experience with grant reporting and meeting grant objectives is required.
Proficiency in managing data sets is required.
Analytical mindset with good problem-solving skills is required.
Demonstrated ability to use data analysis software and computer programs to assist in analyzing, interpreting, and organizing data is required.
Good interpersonal skills are required.
Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, databases and/or data entry, Spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook is required.
Knowledge of Native American communities, culture, customs, and beliefs is preferred.
Experience working with Native Americans clients, communities and is able to demonstrate cultural sensitivity is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
