PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students in accordance with District and/or building goals and objectives.
2. Develops a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is appropriate to the maturity, ability, and interest of students.
3. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the District goals and objectives, establishes a clear objective for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
4. Assesses the individual accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as established by District policy and building procedures.
5. Seeks the assistance of District specialists where and when available.
6. Confers with colleagues, students and/or parents as appropriate.
7. Assists the administration in implementing all District policies and/or building procedures governing student life and conduct.
8. Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or student teachers, volunteers and, in cooperation with the principal or his/her supervisory designee evaluates their job performance.
9. Attends scheduled meetings; serves on staff committees on a voluntary basis.
10. Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
11. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, by District policy, and/or building procedures.
12. Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day.
13. Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials in cooperation with other teachers, coordinators, directors, and the principal.
14. Accepts responsibility for educational activities as assigned.
15. Utilizes or cooperates with resource personnel as appropriate in meeting stated objectives.
16. Employs a variety of instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
17. Attends departmental and staff meetings as requested.
18. Meets and instructs assigned classes and extra classroom assignments and responsibilities in the locations and at the times designated.
19. Prepares for classes assigned in advance in a plan book and shows evidence of preparation upon request of the supervisor or principal.
20. Communicates with parents and school counselors on pupil progress and maintains accurate and complete records.
21. Performs other duties as required by the principal and/or District.
