Salary Range: $45-75/hour, based on experience
Job Summary:
With five locations across the Chicagoland area, Fonseca Martial Arts (FMA) has been a household Karate name for over 20 years. Now FMA seeks to expand its already established Jiu-Jitsu program. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Jiu-Jitsu Instructor to join the FMA team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a dedication to teaching students of all skill levels and ages. While accepting all qualified applications, the ideal candidate would be a female, as this instructor will be expected to teach children ages 4-6 and manage women’s only Jiu-Jitsu classes.
As a Jiu-Jitsu Instructor, you will be responsible for conducting engaging classes, fostering a positive training environment, and helping students develop their technical skills, discipline, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan and lead Jiu-Jitsu classes for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.
· Provide individualized coaching and feedback to improve students’ technique and performance.
· Ensure a safe and respectful training environment by enforcing gym policies and proper etiquette.
· Demonstrate and explain techniques clearly, adapting instruction to different learning styles.
· Assist students in preparing for competitions (if applicable).
· Monitor student progress and provide guidance on skill development.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization in the training area.
· Foster a positive and inclusive culture that promotes teamwork, respect, and personal growth.
· Stay updated with the latest Jiu-Jitsu techniques, trends, and competition rules.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Minimum 7 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
· Must be a minimum rank of Purple Belt in Jiu-Jitsu from a recognized organization/Professor. Ideal candidate is a Brown belt or higher.
· Prior teaching or coaching experience preferred.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work with students of all ages and skill levels, particular ages 4-6.
· Must have access to dependable transportation.
· CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
· Passion for Jiu-Jitsu and a commitment to continuous learning.
