Responsibilities
The Senior Event Manager will review, coordinate and manage group/convention/programs as assigned by the Director of Catering & Convention Services by communicating between the client and the hotel throughout the pre-planning and execution phases with responsibility for the successful outcome of group/convention/programs from pre-arrival through to post-departure.
Examples of Duties, includes but is not limited to the following:Qualifications
- Strong culinary and beverage knowledge and interest
- Knowledge and understanding of the Hotel guest room inventory
- Proven ability to plan and organize events effectively, with an acute sense of detail
- Assertive, professional and positive approach with a proven ability to develop and lead in a team environment
- Ability to develop strong professional relationships with vendors, guests and employees.
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
- Minimum six (6) years related experience in a convention and/or similar management/director-level position at a large first class hotel or hotels.
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management /Administration or related discipline not required, but preferred.
