POSITION OVERVIEW
The Casino Accounting Director is responsible for leading the Casino Accounting, Audit, Soft Count and Record Retention teams. This position will also oversee the daily completion of all Casino and Tax audits and daily issuance of the flash and DOR. They will assist with the month-end closing process for the Casino Accounting team. They will drive the casino accounting, casino comp policy, Casino cash policy, and Internal Control (“IC’s”) system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Responsible for all functions of Casino Accounting, Audit, Soft Count, IC’s and Record Retention including, but not limited to, hiring, member managing, coaching, terminating, daily operations, deadlines, submissions, and regulatory compliance
- Responsible for enforcing Casino revenue/accounting policies, procedures, auditing functions, and revenue recognition
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and county regulatory requirements including taxes, reporting, and compliance
- Ensure the accuracy of Casino audit/accounting revenue reporting
- Maintain and audit all Casino cash handling operations, including performing cash over/shorts and investigations
- Review operational results for inconsistencies and effectively communicate any recommended improvements
- Prepare, review, and distribute all internal daily financial reports
- Oversee maintenance and updating of the Minimum Internal Control Standards (“MICS”)
- Oversee and ensure the completion of all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual
- Review and enforce internal audit controls
- Facilitate external and internal audits and Gaming Control Board as needed to complete regulatory, financial and operational audits
- Complete all audits and department duties to ensure the Casino Accounting Manager’s timely remittance and filing of taxes as they relate to Gaming and Entertainment taxes
- Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three (3) years prior experience in Casino Accounting or Casino Audit
- Experience working in a leadership position for a large-scale, luxury resort is preferred
- Direct experience in GAAP financial statement preparation
- Strong operational knowledge within the Hospitality and/or Gaming industry preferred
- Strong project management experience and process improvement
- Experience in working with all levels of management, including executives and consulting with various departments
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, innovative, flexible, and task-oriented, and can work independently with minimal direction
- Must be flexible, able to handle multiple tasks, and establish priorities effectively
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Ability to exercise professional discretion and judgment
- Ability to gather, synthesize, and analyze data and draw logical conclusions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position directly supervises all Members within the Casino Accounting Department.
